The Harry Agganis Memorial Award is given by the Boston baseball writers to the Red Sox Rookie of the Year. The award is named after Agganis, the Lynn, Mass., native whose Red Sox career was cut short when he tragically died of a pulmonary embolism during his second season with the Red Sox. The award originated as the Boston Rookie of the Year award, with winners named from both the Boston Red Sox and Boston Braves baseball clubs. Winners below marked with * are Boston Braves.
