The Red Sox Fireman of the Year Award is presented by the Boston baseball writers to a Boston Red Sox pitcher for outstanding performance in a relief role. Before 1973, the Boston Chapter gave the award to the pitcher it considered Major League Baseball's top reliever. In 1973, the award was renamed the Red Sox Fireman of the Year Award.
