Honorees attending awards dinner PDF Print E-mail
The batting order has been finalized for the 72nd annual awards dinner of the Boston Chapter, BBWAA. The head table will include the largest number of players and executives to attend in many years.
 
From the Red Sox, CEO Larry Lucchino will be on hand as the Fuchs Award winner for long and meritorious service to baseball. He will be joined by Co-Pitcher of the Year Clay Buchholz, Rookie of the Year Ryan Kalish, Comeback of the Year winner Jed Lowrie, Unsung Hero Scott Atchison, Jensen Award winner Darnell McDonald and Tim Wakefield, who will bring along his Roberto Clemente Award for humanitarianism.
 
Manager Terry Francona, new pitching coach Curt Young, hitting coach Dave Magadan and lefty Rich Hill will also be at the head table.
 
From the rest of baseball, Texas' Ron Washington will be present as Major League Manager of the Year, Joaquin Benoit of the Rays will accept the Tony Conigliaro Award and umpire Jim Joyce will be presented with a sportsmanship award.
 
The event will be held on Thursday, January 20 at The Westin Copley Place Hotel in Boston. Tickets are $150 apiece and can be purchased with a check payable to The Sports Museum, 100 Legends Way, Boston, MA 02114. Credit card purchases can be made by calling Rusty Sullivan at 617-624-1237 and tickets will be available at the door.
