Atchison, Hall honored PDF Print E-mail
Reliever Scott Atchison and all-purpose utility man Bill Hall have been named as the Red Sox' Unsung Hero and Good Guy, respectively, by the Boston Chapter of the Baseball Writers Association of America.

Atchison spent most of the 2010 season in Boston after having played in Japan for two years and became a mainstay in middle relief, even contributing one start in an emergency role. Hall was acquired last January in a trade with Seattle and had his best offensive season since 2005, batting .247 with 18 home runs and 46 RBIs while playing seven different positions, including pitcher.

Atchison and Hall will be honored at the 72nd annual Boston Baseball Writers Dinner presented by New Balance, and in partnership with The Sports Museum. The event will be held on Thursday, Jan. 20, 2011 at The Westin Copley Place Hotel in Boston.
