Beltre named Red Sox MVP PDF Print E-mail
Adrian Beltre is the 2010 winner of the Thomas A. Yawkey Award as Boston’s Most Valuable Player. 
The third baseman is hitting .321 and will finish as the Red Sox 2010 batting champion. He has driven in 102 runs and has 28 homers and 49 doubles. Beltre’s selection to the 2010 American League All-Star Team was the first such recognition of his career.
Beltre becomes the fifth different winner of the Yawkey Award in the last five seasons. Yawkey Award winners for the four previous seasons were Kevin Youkilis in 2009, Dustin Pedroia in 2008, Mike Lowell in 2007 and David Ortiz in 2006. 
Beltre will be honored at the 72nd annual Boston Baseball Writers Dinner presented by New Balance and in partnership with The Sports Museum, on Thursday, January 20, 2011 at The Westin Copley Place Hotel in Boston.
